Message for Participants 08.5.2

"Your Documents Please" will open April 4, 2008 in Itami, Japan. In order for your work to be in the exhibition, it must be delivered in Brooklyn, Slovakia or Japan by March 20, 2008 at the address listed below.

As outlined in our initial communications, we will pack the - approx. 5" x 7" (13cm x 18cm ) or less - items all together in one or two packages to transport to different venues so there will be little or no individual wrapping. Be sure it is easy to hang or edge-pin, no frame, not too fragile and relatively flat. Many people are proposing multiple page pieces. A portion of the show will be displayed on tables or shelves rather than on the wall, but we cannot guarantee that more than one open page of each document will be visible during the exhibition.

In order for us to avoid customs tariffs, none of the work will be for sale and all work will be considered without insurance value. If someone inquires about purchasing work from the exhibition, we will refer them to the artist. Also as in the initial communication, we remind you that there will not be insurance to cover the work. We plan to have the final venue be in the NYC area. Therefore, unless you are in the NY area and able to pick it up in person, you must provide a self-addressed mailer with postage sufficient from NYC to have work returned after the exhibition has finished its travels.

The following is a loan agreement which we ask that you print out to sign and include with your document when it is delivered to us. If possible, attach a photo of the document (that will save us a lot of time); otherwise, we will take a photo and attach it to the signed loan forms. We suggest you save a copy for yourself as well. If you have already sent us your work, please print the loan agreement and send or fax it to us separately in Brooklyn.

Loan Agreement:

I , (print your name)       , agree to loan the document in the attached photograph for inclusion in the traveling exhibition titled "Your Documents Please" and it may travel to all locations that the organizers wish to send it. I state that it is not for sale or to be used for any purpose other than display, and I understand that the organizers as well as the individual locations to which the exhibition will travel do not have insurance and make no guarantee that it will be returned with or without damage.

I also agree that though I retain copyrights to the document, photos of it as well as any included text may be published for purposes related to the exhibition in print or on the internet by the organizers or by the venues in which the exhibition is displayed without obtaining further permission from me.

Organizers of the exhibition include Daniel Georges, Rumiko Tsuda, Andras Borocz, Robbin Silverberg, and Beatrix Piesh.
